New Art Foundation of Vancouver
YOUNG TALENT PROGRAM
The New Art Foundation of Vancouver has launched the Young Talent Program, a scholarship initiative designed to support young artists aged 14-25 in the Vancouver community who are pursuing a career in the arts. The scholarship is intended to provide financial assistance to cover the cost of art supplies, education, and other expenses related to pursuing a career in the arts. The foundation is committed to promoting representation and inclusivity in the arts and encourages applicants from diverse backgrounds and experiences to apply.
Applications for the NAFVan Young Talent Program will open in Fall 2023. The foundation hopes that this scholarship program will help to remove some of the financial barriers that young artists often face and enable them to pursue their artistic passions to the fullest. If you are a young artist living or studying in the Vancouver area and are interested in applying for the scholarship program, stay tuned for further updates on our website!
Each year, the foundation selects at least one emerging artist.
Currently, we are featuring artists Lenthey Qin and Bowen Zhou.
Lenthey is a surrealist emerging artist who creates psychological artwork inspired by her own universe and reflections of life around her. Her pieces often feature cleverly ensconced details that reveal clues about the subject matter. She encourages viewers to think beyond what they see and question the rules of their reality.
Bowen is a contemporary artist whose work explores the interplay between human experiences and the built environment. She graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2022 with a degree in Industrial Design & Sculpture. Her work highlights complex themes such as power dynamics and emotional intricacies that are present in daily human interactions.
